any bets?

We have big news in our house...I'm pregnant with our third child!
I couldn't think of any clever way to drop that on you so I just came right out with it.

Here's our little peanut at 12 weeks. Blurry and blobby. Ahhhh....

I'm about 13 weeks right now and feeling great. I'm more tired than usual and hungrier, of course. And when I'm bun-in-the-oven-hungry, I eat.
I. Eat. All. The. Time.
For what it's worth, I love pregnant eating because there's no guilt at all and everyone's always encouraging you to fill yourself. Ah, sated bliss.

One of the only downsides to pregnancy for me is that my hands are practically useless because my pesky tendonitis makes itself well known. The only reason I'm boring you with my trivial little hand issues is because I needed to explain why there's been such a lack of sewing around here. (to be hampered in sewing when babies offer sooo many opportunities is just too cruel...) I have a couple projects I've been working on and I promise to put them up as soon as I can.

But, in the meantime, any bets on pink or blue? And what are some of your favorite baby sewing projects? If you could include a link to them, I'd love to check them out to put on my list!

Hope you've been doing well and getting into the swing of things with the start of the school year and Halloween speeding towards us.

shrinky dinks!

If you need a fun gift topper or stocking stuffer, this has got to go on your list...and if you have any jewelry skills, I imagine you could crank out a whole bunch.

Yesterday, we had some friends over (both the little variety and Mommy variety) for a crafty play date and we had a blast. My friend Galit (yes, the Galit who makes beautiful jewelry, like these and these) came over with her beads and wire and myriad of tools, and we made some adorable keychains!

Kids' handprints are cute no matter what. But they are infinitely cuter when they're shrunk down.
We traced our kids' handprints onto shrinky dink material and Galit worked her magic.
Quick and cute - my kind of project.

Happy Friday!

Well, hello again

Hi there! I know it's been quiet around the little blog lately...that usually means that it's anything but quiet here at home. We've been having lots of fun enjoying the end of summer and time seems to be speeding up somehow. Play dates, slip & slide, and popsicles. Some super fun San Diego outings that I love. Not nearly as much sewing as I would like...but could there ever be enough? Come on. Lots of family time right here at home and with grandparents. We love grandparents.

Oh, and I had a birthday. Just a little one. An anonymous thirtysomething. It was great and I feel good here in my thirties - they're good birthdays so far. Ask me at 38 and I might feel differently. But I feel like I've earned my Grown Up Badge and I belong here. It's a good place to be.

I really hope you've enjoyed your summer. I hope you got lots of time with family and friends. And I hope to have some fun sewing stuff to show you soon...lots of unfinished projects laying around the sewing table right now just waiting for inspiration to strike. I've been working on some Christmas gifts, some stuff for the kids, some random things. Now I just have to finish something...

Go have a great day and I'll be back soon! Pin It
