hiatus

We've got one busy house right now with baby #3 on the way, our house on the market, and 2 little monkeys who keep me very busy.
So, I've decided to take a break from the blog for awhile to enjoy all my guys and concentrate on what needs to be done at home.
While my head is always swimming with new sewing projects and ideas, I just can't get it all done right now.
Sometimes, I feel bad for my much neglected sewing machine and unused fabric...
but it will all be waiting for me when I can carve out some more time.

I appreciate you all understanding and hope you are having a wonderful start to 2011!
Thank you for being here and checking out my crafty antics.

Happy New Year! (and the giveaway winner)

Happy New Year to you and yours!
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and enjoyed lots of time with family and friends.

We are lucky enough to have a ton of family within driving distance and got to see most of them over the last week or so. I had big plans to take fun pictures of what we did...and, in the end, I just wanted to enjoy the moments and left my camera in the bag.
Sometimes, it's so much nicer to be present with those you love and leave the picture taking for another day.

On the crafty side, I'm learning to knit. A dear friend organized a yarn group for a bunch of us to crochet and knit. I crocheted years ago but got bored with it and decided I'd try knitting. While it's decidedly terrible for my hands (tendonitis, not a big deal, only annoying), I really really want to make that wonderful clicking noise that experienced knitters make when they work. Do you know what I'm talking about? It does sound a little nutty. I know. What you see there was the beginning of a scarf...which I completely tore apart. I hope to have something more substantial to show you in the near future.

I also have some lovely fabrics (from Fabric Depot when I went to Portland) which will soon be turned into a reversible cowl. The cream is an organic cotton/silk blend that feels absolutely delicious. I haven't decided quite how to go about it, but have been thinking about making a cowl for several months now...let's hope it turns out well.

Oh! And the giveaway winner is Danielle, comment #81.
Congratulations!
I love doing giveaways, so look for some more fun in the new year...
