We've hit the big time in our house! First loose tooth ever! Woo Hoo!!
(of course, this means first tooth fairy pillow, too!)

There's a lot of excitement about the
tooth and a lot of questions about the Tooth Fairy which I am sorely
lacking knowledge of. Every Christmas, I dread the great Santa Lie
because I am a terrible liar. Just ask my husband. I am the worst liar
you'll ever meet. As a result, I am a consummate rule follower.
Speed limit? I follow it.
Kid accidentally shoplifts? We take it back.
So
lying about mythical creatures does not come easily for me.
Tooth
Fairy, Santa Claus, Easter Bunny, Unicorns...you get the idea.
But even if I can't lie, I can sew!
And, being the sly Mommy I am, I managed to skirt all the fictitious
fairy questions by emphasizing how really really cool his tooth pillow would be and how much said fairy would like it and want to put money in it.
My kindergartener's tooth pillow just waiting to be filled with that first tooth...
And if one pillow is good, I might as well make a second one for my 4 year old while I'm at it.
Who knows when he'll get his first loose tooth. Right?
To avoid confusion, I added twill tape tags to them and will write the boys' names in fine point sharpie so no one will later argue over who's pillow is whose...yah, we've been down that road before.
Oh, and I couldn't resist using different fabrics front & back.
What is a milestone without some sewing?
And what is sewing without some visual interest?
I knew you'd get it.
That's why I like having you around.
How fun! Seems likE such a step toWards being a big boy!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! My aunt made our ring-bearer pillow for our wedding, and she put a pocket in it so we could use it as a tooth fairy pillow. I need to make sure I know where it is.... ;-)
ReplyDeleteThose pillows look awesome!
