Happy (early) Easter!

Yesterday we had a huge playdate at our house for moms and kids complete with treats, crafts, and an Easter egg hunt. It was a blast! I had big plans for decorating the house in a fun springy way...and it just didn't happen. The night before, I did make this little banner from scrapbook paper, binding scraps, my faithful Sharpie (one of my favorite crafty tools), and the sewing machine, of course. However, the morning of the party flew by and my cute garland was still laying on the sewing table when everyone showed up. This was OK. Nobody complained about the lack of decorations and I enjoyed myself just as much without them.

But I did get it hung up today! (with the help of packing tape, another one of my favorite crafty tools) For using supplies I just had lying around, I am pretty happy with it. It's just the right little shot of Easter fun that our entryway needed.

And on Sunday morning, bright and early, we will take the kids to the lakes by our house and snuggle up for the sunrise Easter service. Undoubtedly, it will be brisk but it will be full of hope and reminders of redemption. We could all use a little more of both and I am reminded every year that my husband and I get the chance to pass these on to our kids. I hope you have a wonderful Easter, maybe spent with family, maybe getting egg-dye-stained fingers, maybe eating too many Peeps or too much ham, maybe a little church if you're so inclined. Whatever you do, I hope you are surrounded by loved ones. Happy Easter!
